ASL’s asset-based fleet was created in response to our customers’ demands initially when we were handling their consolidation and deconsolidation needs.  We have grown into a solid fleet of tractors and trailers with coverage between the United States and Canada, in Ontario and Quebec, including the Greater Toronto area (GTA) and Southwestern Ontario.

Night Moves

The demand for “night move” off-hour freight deliveries continues to grow. If you are a shipper, you may wonder “how can I cost-effectively meet the demand of after hour pick-ups and deliveries?” Canadian retailers have required off-hour deliveries for many years. Major retailers recognize the efficiencies that come with maximizing facility capacity (space and doors) and effective inventory replenishment when operating beyond traditional business hours.  If you are shipping to any major retailer, chances are you are in need of a night move solution.

ASL has been performing night move freight deliveries for many years.  It was first initiated in response to customers’ demands and we view it as a strong value-add to our customers and also, it optimizes our equipment, which means cost savings for you.

Standard Regular Scheduled Loads

ASL Distribution Services is committed to date scheduled, cost effective delivery of regularly scheduled loads within typically defined zones in North America.  This is an economical choice for routine shipments that provides the advantage of knowing in advance when your shipments will arrive. Whether it is within domestic Canada or cross border, we work to ensure your shipment is delivered safely and on-time.

Dedicated

As capacity issues increase and drivers become more scarce, an outsourced dedicated fleet solution can guarantee your products make it to your destinations safely and on-time without the investments in resources and assets that a private fleet may require.  We’ve been operating since 1959. Our experienced drivers will deliver your freight with the dedicated service you have come to expect.  Companies spanning industries, including consumer goods, print media, home improvement products, to name a few, have turned to ASL to address their transportation needs.  We continuously update our fleet to ensure maximum efficiency and decreased downtime.

When timing is critical we deliver. Our North America critical delivery specialized service reliably provides for the movement of highly time critical shipments. Our experienced specialists provide customized plans to offer you a range of urgent solutions that are tailor made to meet your urgent delivery needs.  Proactive notification of delivery status is made available every step of the way.

Cross Docking

It can be reassuring to know that we've managed cross-dock functions for our customers for decades, not years or months. Cross-dock is an effective way to reduce costs under certain circumstances, but realizing efficiencies require expertise. For example, there are usually substantial savings on international LTL rates. We can manage both the truckload into Canada, and then domestic LTL to help you realize cost efficiencies in the final distribution to domestic Canada (either FTL or LTL).

Consolidation / Deconsolidation

Trust-based flexibility, based on five decades of expertise, make strategies like consolidation and deconsolidation at the border  — cost-effective and efficient. We can consolidate and deconsolidate from:

  • USA / Canada
  • Canada / USA

We can also consolidate, deconsolidate and cross-dock for domestic markets once your brand has crossed, to maximize your efficiency and savings:

  • Intra Canada for Canadian domestic market
  • Intra USA for USA domestic market

ASL has 12 locations that can provide cross-dock, consolidation and de-consolidation services, including in the Greater Toronto area, Winnipeg, (MB), and Buffalo, (NY).  We can also deconsolidate at any of these locations and ship your freight across Canada and the United States at very competitive prices.

Southwestern Ontario (SWO)

ASL Distribution serves the Southwestern Ontario region on a daily basis offering freight transportation services. We coordinate all Truckload, LTL and courier services. From expedited transportation for your time-sensitive freight, to milk runs, you can count on us to deliver your freight on time, every time, safely. Our proven dependable track record since 1959, gives our customers peace of mind knowing their freight will be delivered as promised.

Looking for experienced cross-border delivery of your Section 321 shipments? Section 321 is a U.S. Shipment Type for goods to clear through U.S. Customs and Border Protection. This type of entry allows for the release at the border of shipments valued at $800 U.S. dollars or less. Effective January 1, 2019 CBP requires an ACE Manifest for all Section 321 shipments.  There are multiple ways to submit a 321 manifest.
